Cell Towers and Smart Meters
Proposed Kilauea Cell Tower – Pulsed Microwave levels as per
William Keone Fox of Ali’i Wireless Specialists in an email dated April 24, 2013.
.2433 µW/cm2 at 50′ from Tower
.065 µW/cm at 200′ from Tower
.000325 µW/cm at 600′ from Tower
Actual Kilauea measurements confirm equivalent Smart Meter emissions
10′ to 20′ from Smart Meter: up to .185 to .369 µW/cm2
This is 2.8 to 5.7 times the radiation level at 200′ from the proposed cell tower,
or 569 to 1135 times the levels at 600′ from the tower.
3′ from Smart Meter: 2.5 µW/cm2 to 5.9 µW/cm2
This is 10.3 to 24.2 times the radiation level at 50′ from the proposed cell tower.
If you or your neighbors have KIUC Smart Meters, you may already be living with pulsed microwave exposure comparable to or higher than that of a cell tower.
Measurements taken with HF35C from Gigahertz Solutions and RF Explorer KIUC as a body and various individuals including CEO Dave Bissell has been repeatedly invited to observe and paritipate in measuring sessions with our equipment and/or their own. To our knowledge as of 6/24/13, only Jan TenBruggencate has been willing to oberve a meauring session. Thank you, Jan.
On 6/13/13, at the conclusion of the Apollo Kauai meeting, CEO Dave Bissell again refused our offer to observe measurements, though we were at the Kapaa Library and had our instruments in hand.

INDEPENDENT STUDY FINDS ‘SMART’ METERS CAN VIOLATE FEDERAL SAFETY LIMITS
Scientific Analysis of New Wireless Meters May Explain Reported Health Symptoms.
A new study on wireless “smart” meters shows they are likely to violate Federal Communications Commission (FCC) safety limits in some instances where they are installed and operated close to where people spend time in their homes and back yards.
Further, the study found it typical to have excessively elevated radiofrequency (RF) radiation levels in rooms adjacent to the meter, comparable to living within 200 – 600 feet of cell phone towers. Scientific studies have reported adverse health effects from chronic exposure to pulsed RF at the same levels and frequencies emitted by smart meters.
Health impacts can include neurological symptoms such as headache, sleep disruption, restlessness, tremors, cognitive impairment, and tinnitus, as well as increased cancer risk and heart problems such as arrythmias, altered heart rhythms, and palpitations.1
“From a public health point of view, it is very shortsighted to bring on new sources of human exposure to radiofrequency radiation without any attention to the adverse effects on human health. Smart meters result in a significant increase of exposure to a form of radiation already shown to cause cancer and other diseases.” David O. Carpenter, M.D. Director, Institute for Health and the Environment, University at Albany, New York.
